Broadway Productions? If you are going to a Broadway Production and you are sitting way in the back. How can you hear what the actors are saying?
Do Broadway Productions sell on DVD? I've seen Sweeney Todd Broadway on dvd.. but what others are there? I desperately want Beauty and the Beast, but I can't find it! Am I not looking in the right spot? Where could it be, or is it not available?
Where can I find OLD Broadway reviews? I'm trying to find old articles reviewing Broadway productions in the 1940s, specifically 1941-1946. Does anyone know if there were many journals or magazines that reviewed productions then and if so, what they are called? Are there any free archives online relating to this? Would I have to contact a special library and if so, do you know the names of any? I've already exhausted the New York Times archives and I've found some articles in popular magazines such as Life, Time, Etc. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
Should Disney be in the Broadway Musical business? Disney has produced several Broadway productions (Beauty and the Beast, the Lion King, Mary Poppins, etc). Would you spend the money to see a familiar Disney story on the great white way, or would you be more inclined to spend the money to see a different production not affiliated with the Disney company or its familiar stories?
What is the title of this song and what broadway production was it in? It is a single male singing while playing a piano. He is a composer of the music for varying musical works; and his partner had been drafted into playing in a musical it's self. He was lamenting on this fact, and the line I remember was repeated several times. It went, "But I like the music that I made with her." Can anyone help? I love broadway, and I really want to watch this musical.
What is the average cost to produce a Broadway show? I'm writing a sales pitch for a new play, and I want to remind theater producers of the huge risk they are taking by choosing to work with very demanding playwrights or scripts. (Of course, I'm EASY to work with and my play is LESS EXPENSIVE to stage.) My impression is that it costs something like $2,000,000.00 to mount a Broadway production. What have you heard?
When do tickets go on sale for Love Never Dies (Broadway production)? I really want to know when tickets go on sale for the broadway show Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, which opens November 11th. Does any one have any link to information about ticket sales for the Broadway show? I am well aware that the show's opening is almost 8 months away. The show opened in London march 20th and those tickets were on sale in october so it stands to reason that the broadway tickets will be on sale sometime early on also.
Question about the various productions of Wicked? Anyone that has seen the show more than once and with a different company can answer this... Which production, aside from the Broadway show is the closest to it, as far as the over-all show is concerned? I am aware that all the shows aside from New York are a little scaled down in sets, but I can't determine which one is the closest to the Broadway production, as well as which one is the smallest. If anyone can give some input, I would appreciate it. This really has no importance, but I'm curious. THANKS!!
What is the proper attire for an off broadway show? Namely The Phantom of the Opera in San Antonio...? In mid March I will be traveling to San Antonio for a long weekend. The main attraction of the weekend will be going to the Majestic Theater to attend the off broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera. I'm very excited, because I've been a fan of the music for ages. I'm just not quite sure what to wear. I thought about purchasing a semi casual dress, but I don't want to be overdressed. Suggestions anyone?
Who produced the wigs for the Broadway production of Wicked? I know that the wigs were designed by Tom Watson, but I'm interested in finding out which company or firm actually produced them. I'm admittedly not too knowledgeable concerning the actual hierarchy involved in the production of Broadway wigs, so it may well be that they were produced by him and his associates. Any further info is MUCH appreciated!
How do Broadway stars get paid? We saw a theater production last night. It was a touring Broadway production. The female lead was one of my husband's friends from high school. I've always kind of wondered, but now am really curious- how do Broadway and touring production stars get paid? Are they on salary? Payment per performance? What about rehearsal time? What happens if an understudy steps in becuase of sickness? Is the understudy paid more for their performance as the lead (for example) than if they were in the ensemble as they normally were?
Do you really want to see this Broadway production of Equus? Personally, I don't want to see anything that has to do with some misguided soul committing atrocities against any animal, i.e. horses. And why does someone, Daniel Radcliffe, have to be naked in it? Is it an integral part of the play ( I don't see how). Opinions please.
For someone who has seen Phantom of the Opera on Broadway? The scene where Madame Giry tells Raoul how she knows the Phantom. Then the scene goes back in time to a flashback of when the Phantom was in the circus as a child..... is that scene in there? Or is it just the movie? Was the scene EVER in the Broadway production? Thanks
